This year’s Grammy’s came and went and everyone cried. With a beautiful tribute to the late Whitney Houston and with show stopping performances from The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen and Adele, it’s hard not to want to start downloading. In spirit of the Grammy’s here are some bands you should start listening to now:

Oh Land: This blonde bombshell and former ballerina from Copenhagen has an eclectic feel, think of an inverted White Stripes. She gives off a strange sex appeal and her memorable lyrics are sure to stick with you throughout the day. Oh Land’s song ‘Son of a Gun’ has received many downloads but the one to check out is ‘Wolf and I’ or ‘Rainbow’.

Bon Iver: This name may sound familiar, that’s because Bon Iver won best a Grammy for ‘Best New Artist’. But funny thing is, there is nothing new about Bon Iver. Front man Justin Vernon has been slaying folk songs since 2007 with their first cd release, “For Emma, Forever Ago”. The song ‘Skinny Love’ is has a somber and woodsy feel to it and was a big hit. Bon Iver’s newest album, self-titled, is a definite download. Check out and see why Bon Iver is ‘Best New Artist’,

The Civil Wars: On the Grammy trail is adorable duo The Civil Wars who were first time Grammy Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Barton Hollow” and Best Folk Album nominees.  Joy Williams is the leading lady with a sweet and soulful voice that blends well with Johnny Depp look alike and guitarist
John Paul White. Their sound is clear, refreshing with a slight bluegrass undertone.

Jack White: You might know Jack White from The duo The White Stripes. He has gone solo and will be releasing his album this spring. His first single ‘Love Interpretation’ features an old sound with a clarinet in the back ground. Jack White is known for his interesting musical collaborations and backgrounds. Definitely keep an eye for his solo album; you will be glad you did.

This may not all be Grammy’s winners but they are definitely worth the download. Before you know it you will be singing a long and tapping your toes. Happy listening!
